Contribute to the 11th annual "Not Just a Food Drive" to benefit N Street Village.
Please join in an annual Bet Mishpachah High Holy Day tradition and perform the mitzva of tz'daka by contributing generously to the eleventh annual "Not Just a Food Drive” to benefit the N Street Village Women's Shelter. This year members’ donations will be collected on Kol Nidre, Friday evening, September 29, and Yom Kippur morning, Saturday, September 30 at Luther Place Memorial Church.
Following is a list of items most needed by the N Street Village Shelter:
- umbrellas and ponchos
- washcloths (new)
- bath towels (new)
- travel-size lotions
- travel-size deodorants
- travel-size body wash/shower gels
- toilet paper
- travel-size toothpaste
- disinfectant wipes
- flip flops (new, size 8-13)

N Street Village, founded in 1972, is a DC-based section 501(c)3 nonprofit that offers a safe, empowering community for women facing homelessness, poverty and related challenges. It is located directly across N Street from LPMC. Many of N Street Village's clients also suffer from mental illness, poverty, addiction and chronic health problems. The comprehensive services offered include: housing, case management, mental health therapy, wellness programs, job training, clothing and peer support. N Street Village is the largest provider of women-only services for DC's homeless population and helps over 1000 women each year.
